What to wear : Lazy sunday

lazy sundayFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

Recently, after all the school work i've been going through, all i could ever wish for was a simple lazy day out where i can read a book or hang out with my mom at a cafe of some sort. This is what I would wear if that ever happened, and i honestly like the Taylor Momsen inspired slouchiness in the outfit. I used an Alexander Wang cropped top and a McQ leather high waisted pants, and completed it with crazy pearls and these fabulous navy giuseppe zanotti wedges. I'm loving cat eye shades and lanvin clutch, which would be perfect for a sunday brunch. As for the accessories, gray nail polish would totally rock the outfit, and a bold red lip would further enhance it. For eyes and blush, i picked super subtle colors for the lazy feel. I find a little mix of lazy and bold shows an empowered girl. That being said, have a great weekend!

What to wear : girls night out

night outFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

I know i already did a girl's day out post, but it wouldn't be complete without showing you my options for the night out part right? Personally, I love love love wearing easy and light dresses for the night, and throwing on a blazer with killer heels. For this look, i went with a golden palette, just because i got really inspired by all the lights i've been seeing around at night. I chose a topshop tie dye cover-up dress and gold boyfriend blazer. I also came across these topshop wedges which are soo amazing i had to included it. As for accessories, i chose this ridiculously expensive hermes bracelet and a cool charles hubert necklace-watch. I feel that for night, its best to keep the accessories to a bare minimum, so that the total focus isn't on your glitziness and the fact that you're super comfortable with whatever you have on. Moving on to makeup, I am totally loving the coral look all over, but smokey on the eyes to give a mystery feel. Perfect for the night time either you're going out for the movies or out for drinks with a few friends. To keep all of your junk, I took a step back from small clutches for a while and threw on this oversized red chanel bag. What would be better than having all of your stuff with you at all times?

What to wear : girls day out

girls day outFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

With all the schooling and stress I'm getting, it's obvious why i would only think about a fabulous girls night out! After viewing several french bloggers, they've inspired me by their oh-so casual comfy style, to their modern/vintage take on a day to day outfit. So I've been obsessed with these crop tops now (its amazing how things come back in style), and for a girls day out, I'm thinking skinny jeans, with a little bit of detailing. Clogs would also amp up the look for a more trendy feel. I will be honest now and tell you that I have been eyeing on this YSL bag, except its not around anymore (they have different other versions of it though)! I feel that bags like these would be not so girly, making the entire outfit looking interesting. Moving on to makeup, a red lip is definitely a way to go. With that in mind, I prefer to keep everything else subtle and fresh, because after all, you'd be glowing while enjoying the day with your girls.

What to wear : camping trip

camping tripFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

First off, sorry i havn't posted anything for so long! When i'm on vacation, i tend to have so much fun, by the time i come home its hard not to fall asleep! So I'm blogging while listening to California Gurls by Katy Perry, and I can't help but add candies and sweets all over. This might be a little late, but better than never eh? When camping, most girls think, comfy t-shirts, sweat pants, a hoodie and flip flops. I'm thinking, graphic printed tank tops or crop tees, with printed shorts and gladiator sandals. When it gets cold, a boyfriend cardigan is always the right way to go. Also, I like to add fun colors around, with bright colored watches and wayfarers. For makeup, I chose a soft blush tone and trio eye shadow palette from NYX, perfect for traveling during camp. For lips, coral is the best shade, and don't forget to bronze and shimmer after you moisturize!

RESORT '11: Yves Saint Laurent

Finally, Stefano Pilati has lighten up. This collection has showed a much less sober affair compared to the Fall '10 collection. I felt that this time, YSL brought the 70s bohemian back, and not forgetting to mix them with a pinch sexy upper east sider-esque. Floral printed heels were splashed down the side of the nipped-waist silk dresses, or across the front of a slim above-the-knee skirt worn with a delicate blouse.

I find this collection really interesting, mostly because YSL stayed true to the cruise theme as well as making it appropriate, while bringing the 70s back. I really liked the suits and the vintage high-waisted trousers, splashing vibrant fuchsia, lilac and color prints on them (a YSL classic). Check out the entire collection here.

RESORT '11: Donna Karan

I love the evening dresses in this collection! Black, white and silver metallics are the most unpredictable colors for this year's resort line, which is genius! This season DK designs are all meant for after dark. Pantsuits had the soft, slouchy ease of pajamas, one robe-like jacket even had a hood while a silk crepe jumpsuit came strictly tailored on top and loose and flowing below the waist.

Her signature goddess dresses were key in this collection. Deeply cowled, one-shouldered in satin jersey, knee-length and to-the-floor. Several outfits looked perfect and ready for the red carpet, however a few day looks would've been welcome additions. Check out the entire collection here.

Jason Wu is one fabulous designer. The clothes that he created are so amazing, for teenagers and adults. I remember whenever my mother needs help in the closet, Jason Wu always slip into my mind (think Michelle Obama). Women these days buy clothes without thinking i feel, for example blouses with elaborate patterning or a strange big bow. They then proceed by matching that with a pair of khaki pants. To be honest I always say no that (sorry mom).

With this collection especially, women like my mom can learn to dress as comfortable as they want but still be stylish. Blouses with elaborate stuff will finally be paired with the appropriate garment. I really enjoy looking at this particular collection because its just so refreshing. Kinda remind me of the vintage times with a modern parisian twist. Check out the entire collection here.

Getaway to the Beach

getaway to the beachFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

As i was thinking of what to blog about today, I decided to do another getaway style! This summer, beaches are the perfect vacation spot, but I've always had to stop and think through what on earth am I supposed to wear other than a cute bikini. First off, I am in love with Victoria's Secret's swim wear, because of their variety, and also them not being over priced. The norm for girls would be a maxi dress above the bikini, throughout the day and night, but for me it's getting a little boring. I picked a sailor striped tank top, probably long enough to be a mini dress, then I'd cover up with a denim shirt. When i think of beaches, colors that pop up would be yellow (sun) and blue (ocean). So play with whatever colors you can think of. For nail polish, I selected a couple of summer colors from Chanel to add a playful vibe to the look. For makeup, I'd always stick to coral lip shade and the soft golden eyes. Body lotion with SPF is a must, and I wouldn't want to forget to bronze my skin as well. MAC's new collection "To the Beach" has this amazing bronzer that feels like oil and is really easy and smooth to run it on your skin, but its shimmery and does not give too tanned skin. As for the accessories, i picked out House of Harlow jewelries as well as my all time favorite Chanel shades (with pearls at the sides) and a transparent tote bag just because. Don't forget the big hat to finish the look!

Getaway to Paris

getaway to parisFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

Its my first time using Polyvore, so tell me what you guys think! Paris have always been a go to for vacation spots, and the environment there has always inspired me to this day. Even as a 9 year old kid to Paris for her first time, I still wished I wore better clothes that time. Florals i find, are especially appropriate for this romantic city, and therefore i started the outfit from there. Its summer, so shorts and sandals are a must! The jacket that i have picked out screams parisian to me, and the hat adds a summer vibe to the look. For makeup, I'd go with a more romantic feel, with a neutral and pinkish eye, little bit of blush and a coral toned lip. Fragrance in Pariee, Chanel No. 5. Nail polish, nude ish/pink ish tone. Of course, i always like to add something expensive to the look, which in this case would be a Hermes Birkin bag just because.

RESORT '11: Burberry Prorsum

Unlike Chanel and Christian Dior, Burberry decided to take a subtle tone as usual for the collection. My favorites would have to be the belts, trench coat, draped dresses and blouses, military jacket and the navy toned outfit at the end. Designer Christopher Bailey said he wanted the collection to be much more than that slightly faded, vintage-ish english rose mood, something that seemed from the past. But then Bailey added sexy to the collection, with lightweight stretch fabrics to line the body, thigh-high boots to define the legs, and the iconic trench to propose as a lean, mean coat-dress clasped with a wide belt. All i will say is, oh so Burberry. Check out the entire Resort collection here.
