So here I am, blogging away next to an empty suitcase. I've spent a couple of days now figuring out what on earth I should pack, especially when my ticket and passport is staring at me. I always loved traveling, not so much the packing. So i went on to think about what to wear, and I decided to blog about it as well. By now, I bet everybody who follow my blog can figure out that I am OBSESSED with these Louis Vuitton city guide books. Its about USD$30, and it has maps and directories to the most expensive and elite places in each country. Speaking of Louis Vuitton travel, I'm also obsessed with these cabin bags, particularly the white checkered ones. This would be perfect to store practically everything you need from a 1 hour flight up to the 24 hour flight and more. I don't usually like wearing makeup when traveling, but lip balm and gloss are totally essential. I also chose a subtle brown-gray toned nail polish for a very chill look. Moving on, I'd think a simple shirt and jeans on a plane, but why not step it up a notch with a sailor shirt and tie dyed skinny jeans. After looking at Kim Kardashian and Dakota Fanning's looks on airplanes, I totally fell in love with the over-the-knee boots in airplanes. Here I chose flat soled OTK boots with cool detailing, and paired it with a leather military jacket. Now, I wouldn't wear contact lenses in the plane because of the dryness in the plane, so glasses are the best option (check out the awesome chanel shades with the pearls by the side!). Check out my previous airport post here.

My Summer picks 2010

Day Out

First look:
crop tee: macy's / jeans:topshop / shoes:chanel
Second look:
tee: alexander wang / shoes:topshop / accessories:house of harlow
Third look:
maxi dress:forever 21 / shirt dress:ace&jig / briefcase bag:topshop
When i came across pictures of Santa Monica, i instantly got excited and inspired to do this post. I've never spent so much time on adobe photoshop ever, so comment and tell me how i can improve! Anyways, summer vacation is so close now and we get to spend an entire day looking fabulous in wherever you are, as long as its not school. I am in love with floral prints now, but i always like to edge it up and splash a little bit of leather to any outfit i find too sweet. I was browsing on teenvogue.com when i came across these floral jeans from topshop which costs USD$90 which is pretty good for such good prints. Then i thought, why not show you guys how i'd style an outfit with floral prints for the summer.

Night Out

First look:
dress:aryn K / scarf:louis vuitton / clutch:tods / shoe:louise golin for topshop
Second look:
dress:fred flare / shoe:alexander wang / clutch:louis vuitton / accessories:house of harlow
To be honest, i'm more of a stay at home and watch movies kind of girl when its at night, but during the summer holidays, i go all out! Dangerous heels are a must for me at night, and short dresses are perfect too! I like to switch up my accessories, but i'm loving the bohemian touch right now. Florals are still fun to play with at night, but i would give an extra edge with different types of materials to contrast them. An outfit can't be too sweet now can it?

What to wear : Prom

Vanessa Hudgens

Emma Watson

Chanel Iman

Justin Timberlake

Taylor Lautner
Whenever your prom is, its always crucial to get prepare and get ready. For girls, evening gowns, maxi dresses, or minis are all appropriate for this event. A few of my favorites includes the nude toned gown Vanessa Hudgens wore to the Golden Globe awards, because of its classic feel and the modern twist. Emma Watson chose a bohemian themed maxi that is beautifully put together with a classic hair do, and Chanel Iman with a enchanting princessy prom dress. As for the guys, tux would be the norm, but Justin Timberlake had a jean button down dress shirt paired with a bow tie that made the entire look much more fashion forward. Taylor Lautner has always looked sharp and sleek on red carpet events, and his suit looks amazing on his built body.

Skin care review

So I decided to do a review on skin care today, thanks to twitter. I have really dry skin so I guess i am kinda lucky in a way because it is easier to maintain my skin. I recently tried out the clinique 3 step skin care system and it has worked really well for my skin. There are 4 different types depending on your skin type (dry, combination dry, combination oily and oily). I am using combination dry because my dry areas are only at my T-zone.
Before I tried this clinique 3 step skin care system, i was really lazy to use a toner and moisturizer for my face. I used to just wash it with a regular facial wash and that was it. Even though I had compliments for not having an oily based skin, my mother insisted that I should start using at least a moisturizer. Also, my mother had read an article about teenagers who should wash their faces only at night before they go to bed, because they shouldn't get too much chemicals on their developing face (it works great on me but i don't guarantee).
Clinique has really good products, however some may think it might be a little too costly to spend on beauty products. I used to ignore spending too much on facial washes as well but then i realized that i had to invest on my facial wash because I need good skin to have good make up! That being said, Clinique caters to every skin type, and they are really specific in what type of tone you are, to what you want to recover. They also have products which can control acne problems and blemishes, but you'd have to use it regularly.
DISCLAIMER: this is my honest opinion of the product. I am not paid to do this review. I bought this product with my own money.

How to wear: Camel and Khaki

Kate Hudson

Kristen Bell, Jennifer Aniston, Rihanna

The Khaki trench first started out in the early 20s and has lived on to this day. Now Khaki blazers, jackets, shorts and fancy pants are created to live up its standards with the classic trench.
I feel that the easiest way to wear Khaki would be a simple french navy blue and white stripped shirt with khaki shorts and a khaki blazer, paired with aviator glasses to finish the look. It'll also be simpler if matched with a simple plaid button down shirt in exchange of the blue and white stripped shirt, tucked into a cute pair of camel trousers (what Kristen Bell and Rihanna are wearing) and paired with a buckled ankle boot.
The best places to shop Camel clothing online would be www.theory.com, because it also shows you how to wear it without looking tacky.

Brow kits

Benefit
Brows-a-go-go
Recently i found myself shopping for eye brow kits and people kept telling me that Benefit's has the best brow kits ever, and is sort of known for it as well. This brow kit is really cute because it is complete with a mini tweezer, angled brush for the brow, a blending brush, an eye liner for a smoky eye (kinda random), 2 different shade of color for your brow, and a brow wax to finish up your look. Price point is USD$38 and can be found in Sephora, Ulta or you can buy in online here.

Benefit
Brow zings
This brow kit is smaller and comes in 3 different colors, light, medium and dark. It is also a cheaper alternative to the Brows-a-go-go from Benefit, only that it comes with a mirror, and does not have a gel wax for the finished brow. Price point is at $30, and you can get it in Sephora, Ulta or you can order it online here.

Urban Decay
Brow box
I recently bought this at Sephora, and was super excited to use it as an everyday routine. It comes in 4 different colors to choose from, Beige Betty (medium), Brown Sugar (dark), Gingersnap (auburn), and Honey Pot (blonde). It contains a mirror, mini tweezer, an angled brush, 2 shades for your brow and could be used as an eye shadow as well, and brow gel/wax for the finished look. Price point is at USD$29, and can be bought at Sephora or online here.

Too Faced
Brow Envy Kit
This high in demand brow kit comes in an uber cute packaging, and i find it is the most complete kit i have ever found in Sephora. It comes with a mirror, mini tweezer, angled brush, spooley, a brow pencil, conditioning wax, 2 shades for your brow, and 3 stencils to match your desired look. The shades are perfect for brunettes and blondes, and the kit itself are not easily found anymore. However you can order it online here at about USD$35.

January Favorites / Wish list

WISH
Lush soaps
I never realized how good these soaps were, until my room mate introduced them to me, and after doing a little more research, i got crazy and just want to get a hold of it as soon as possible! These soaps are not only sweet smelling, but also really unique and is used in its own special way. Unfortunately Lush is only available in US and the UK, but you can order it online right here. Price points are from USD$7 up to USD$20 depending on which type of soap you buy. Personally, its better to go to the shop and decide what you want to buy instead of ordering it online, because the range of scents are very wide and you might enjoy the experience as well. (PS most of these soaps go better when used in the tub)

LOVE
Coastal Scents 88 makeup palette
I had just received this in my mail yesterday and was amazed by its quality! Each color might be relatively small, but the pigmentation of each shadow is amazing, and when compared to MAC, they are almost the same of quality. Considering the price as well, this palette is perfect for those who are starting out with makeup, or maybe just wanting to get colors that you don't necessarily use on a daily basis, but find yourself searching for that one color at the drugstore. You can purchase it online here.

LOVE
Coastal Scents camo quad color corrector
Just got this one in my mail today and was blown away. Unlike normal concealers, this particular one has different colors to correct your uneven skin tone. The mint green shade is to cover reddish blemishes around the sides of your nose and cheeks, the yellow shade is to hide black/blue/purple imperfections, lavender shade is to even out skin tones for people with yellow or olive undertones, and the sky blue shade is to cover uneven tans. You can purchase it online here for only USD$8.

LOVE
Victoria's Secret lip gloss Beauty Rush
I started using Beauty Rush by Victoria's Secret a year ago as my friend got it for me as a gift, and i fell completely in love with it. It is perfect for a regular lipgloss, or to sass up a more dramatic look, or to mix and match with other lip glosses to give a nice and clean new shade to perfect your look. You can purchase it in Victoria's Secret boutiques for about USD$8 and SG$13. Colors I LOVE LOVE are: Piece of cake (slice of heaven), Cherry Baby, Sugar Rush and Cocoalicious.

LOVE
Boyfriend Blazer
This is more of a 2009-2010 favorite just because i find myself using it the most. This has even become part of my Blazer collection ever since spring-summer last year, and its still a part of my stapled ensemble on a daily basis. I cannot imagine myself without them! Brands I like are as follows: Zara, TopShop, Chanel.

how to spot a fake : LOUIS VUITTON

REAL (speedy 30)

FAKE (speedy 35)
Its kinda weird that sometimes when i go out and i see someone wearing a louis vuitton bag, i would always try to spot if it were a real or a fake. In this economy, its really common to find people buying fake stuff, and i guess its okay if you're careful and pick the right one for a decent pricing. So here's a list of differences between a real and a fake speedy bag.
REAL:
-smells like fresh leather
-LV sign is not even close to the beige piping
-there is a not-so-obvious red leather behind the beige piping of the bag
-when playing with the zipper, it is super smooth
-every lining of the bag is smooth and cannot be bent
-the handle is pretty heavy
FAKE:
-if it smells like an old leather car seat
-the LV sign has been cut in between of the piping
-the LV sign is upside-down (SUPER FAKE)
-the red lining behind the piping is rough and sloppy
-the zipper gets stuck in between
-the bag is easily squashed
PS. let me know if i missed out some stuff

How to look taller
We all want to look as tall as we can, but sometimes we always feel if we're not physically tall, there is no other way but to weep in one corner, or take pills hoping it would work. But celebrities have shown us that there is always a way or two to fake your height. Here are some tips.

Nicole Richie
OTK(over-the-knee) boots
Remember it's fall/winter, so having a pair of OTK boots isn't a sin. Most of the time it would be best if it were heeled, and if the heels were shaped uniquely, even better. Nicole Richie is a very small and petite person, however not only the extra height of the heels give her a boost, but also the length of the boot gives her an illusion of a longer leg. The best part of these boots are that all you need is fitted jeans to tuck inside, and the rest is completely up to you.

Ashley Tisdale
Flat soled boots
When you have boots which are not heeled, and not up to your knee, show more leg to create a false impression of a long leg. Go for light clothing, and bright colors to finish the look, and please make sure you lotion your legs so you won't get embarrassed when people stare at your long legs.

Rachel Bilson
Wide trousers/jeans
Extremely comfortable and useful to lengthen your legs. Rachel Bilson is one of the most petite people in Hollywood, and she smartly creates a beautiful illusion with her favorite type of pants, paired with high heels. My brand pick for these types of jeans are obviously Miss Sixty, just because it's sort of famous for its wide jeans. Tops to complete the look would be something fun and cute, like the blouse Rachel is wearing. Also since its still fall, wear a plaided button up shirt and tuck it in and pair it with your most comfortable heels.
LOOK: hot night out

Rihanna

Kristin Cavallari

Audrina Patridge

Taylor Momsen
Olivia Palermo
Imagine the situation when you get a call from your girlfriends for a night out, and you're trying to stay cool and collected for the rest of the day, even though when we all know you're thinking of the perfect outfit to outwit your friends. There are several ways to interpret and tackle this situation (you don't want to look too over the top as well), but you have to understand that this is an occasion, and you should step up your game and take a little more risks! As we all know the trend now is "lingerie is the new outerwear"(look at audrina patridge), so be confident and take advantage of that!
Core pieces
-leather skirts/shorts
-sparkly blouse/tank top
-black shorts
-distressed jeans/leggings
-leather leggings
Tip: Stay clear of light blue jeans, its best for the day. Splash a little bit of bright or neon colors around your outfit to keep it fun. Also try a low top to boost your confidence level.
Extras
-leather blazer
-leather jacket
-faux fur vest
-big and chunky belts
Tip: This is basically to ensure your whole look is fun and maintained. Its the part where you get to experiment your new trendy splurges, and show off your personal style (look at Olivia Palermo's "Blair Waldorf" style)
Shoes
-high heeled ankle boots
-high heeled pumps
Tip: The higher the heel, the better.
Accessory
-stack of bangles
-a cute headband
-statement necklace
-clutch bag
Tip: Stay clear of your everyday bag. Make sure your look is more than simple after adding loads and loads of accessories.

How to be a model

Gemma Ward

Jessica Stam

Karlie Kloss
Many of us had dreamed of becoming a fashion model, posing for major fashion photo shoots or walking down the runway in the most amazing and high fashion clothing. However, most of the time we don't have an adult figure, or someone who knows it all to tell us if we have a shot, and sometimes leading us to embarrassment in the modeling agency. I have found an amazing source which tells us exactly what agencies are looking for in a potential model.
Be Realistic
Very few people can be models. Like many other professions, modeling has stringent criteria and exceptions are rarely made. The most important factor is height; The industry standard is five feet nine inches to five feet eleven inches.
See if you have what it takes
Contact an agency and send snapshots of yourself. Include your stats-height, age, hair and eye color, and bust, hip, and waist measurements-and your phone number. Pictures should be taken with natural hair and no makeup and against a white wall.
If you live near a major city, contact individual agencies to see if they have open calls
This is time set aside for consultations with aspiring models. Go to open calls armed with your snapshots. If you don't live close to a modeling hub, call an agency in a large city like New York, Los Angeles, or Miami and ask if they work with agencies in your area.
Be wary of scams
An agency that believes in you will often advance you money while working to build your portfolio. Once you begin working, you pay the agency back for its expenditures. If you're asked to pay an agency money up front for the promise of finding you work, keep searching.
Modeling is not the right path for everyone
There are many other career choices in the modeling industry. Agents, casting directors, and model scouts are all necessary and valuable contributors to the business of modeling.

LOOK: comfy casual

Megan Fox
Selena Gomez

Vanessa Hudgens

Dakota Fanning

Lauren Conrad

Emma Watson
We all have those last 5 minutes in the closet, staring at the mirror and unsure whether our outfit is good enough for the occasion, even though it was probably a day out with your closest friends. Here is a check list to make sure you still look great but appropriate for that casual day out.
Basics
- V-neck loose shirt
- cute blouse
- loose tank top
- skinny jeans
- black leggings
Tip: These items would help you look not too over the top, and tone down the entire outfit. Try to avoid t-shirts with big cartoons or pictures splattered all over, especially those t-shirts with the brand name printed on top which is so huge it make people walking past you dizzy (example: armani exchange shirts). Those are mostly considered tacky and it would make you seem like you are insecure (but of course nobody's stopping you).
Extras
- leather jacket
- boyfriend blazer
- fitted blazer
- white oversized men's button-on shirt
- fedora hat
- beanie
Tip: without these items, your entire ensemble would not look as good. I would say these items would make or break your look so its best to choose the color and the cut and what fits your outfit perfectly wisely.
Shoes
- ankle boots
- knee high boots
- wedged heels
- ballet flats
- gladiator sandals
Tip: you'll have to oomph the whole look with awesome shoes, but also feel comfortable in them.
Accessory
- your everyday bag
- a cute necklace
- aviator sunglasses
- wayfarers
Tip: Finish your ensemble with accessories that ensure everything looks You.

The Red Lipstick

Karlie Kloss

Chanel Iman

Tao Okamoto
Red lips are commonly frustrating and frightening for many women everywhere, however when used correctly, it can dominate everybody's attention wherever you go. Don't believe me? Consider the fact that red lips are the fashion industry's favorite and they appear on the runways nearly every single season. This trend has some serious longevity, so its worth investing on the perfect tube. To find out the perfect shade of red that suits your face, you would need a minute and a mirror. Basically there are 3 kinds of red lipstick-true red, orange red, and blue red. Heres a list of the best red lipstick you should wear.

Whitney Port

I adore Whitney Port ever since she was first introduced in 'The Hills' when she was working with Lauren Conrad as an intern at Teen Vogue magazine. Her face was just so bright and cheerful, and she always looked fresh and happy. This californian beauty had just took to her blog to share with us how she keep her fresh look especially on set of 'The City'. So here's Whitney.
Hi my loves,
I have noticed that a lot of you have been wondering how i do my makeup. I am not a big fan of heavy makeup so the majority of the time I do my own. I stick to the basics of face powder, bronzer and blush. Over the years i have learned how to do my own makeup because we don't have a makeup artist for the show. Here is a little look at my daily routine.
I start by mixing Fresh High Noon tinted moisturizer with the Fresh Soy Face Cream to get a nice base with a little sunkissed glow.
Then I Dust Bare Minerals Powder with SPF 15 to even out my skin.
Next I bronze with Guerlain Number One for Blondes on my cheeks, hairline and jawline.
Then I brush a little bit of NARS Orgasm Blush on my cheekbones, a little on my forehead, nose, and chin to keep it constant
I use Anastasia brow get to give my eyebrows a nice shape (this is especially helpful if i haven't had time to go in to get them done.)
I highlight under my eyebrows with Benefit Eye Bright and then curl my lashes with a Sephora eyelash curler.
Sometimes if I'm really feeling like going all out for the day I put on Maybelline mascara
This look is really easy to transition from day to night. I reapply the basics and use the Stila Smudge pot with a slanted brush to put eyeliner on.
For my lips i love the Fresh Sugar Lip Stain with SPF in it.
Seems like a lot of steps but it really only takes 5 minutes!
Love her!
