Getaway to Paris

getaway to parisFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

Its my first time using Polyvore, so tell me what you guys think! Paris have always been a go to for vacation spots, and the environment there has always inspired me to this day. Even as a 9 year old kid to Paris for her first time, I still wished I wore better clothes that time. Florals i find, are especially appropriate for this romantic city, and therefore i started the outfit from there. Its summer, so shorts and sandals are a must! The jacket that i have picked out screams parisian to me, and the hat adds a summer vibe to the look. For makeup, I'd go with a more romantic feel, with a neutral and pinkish eye, little bit of blush and a coral toned lip. Fragrance in Pariee, Chanel No. 5. Nail polish, nude ish/pink ish tone. Of course, i always like to add something expensive to the look, which in this case would be a Hermes Birkin bag just because.

Unlike Chanel and Christian Dior, Burberry decided to take a subtle tone as usual for the collection. My favorites would have to be the belts, trench coat, draped dresses and blouses, military jacket and the navy toned outfit at the end. Designer Christopher Bailey said he wanted the collection to be much more than that slightly faded, vintage-ish english rose mood, something that seemed from the past. But then Bailey added sexy to the collection, with lightweight stretch fabrics to line the body, thigh-high boots to define the legs, and the iconic trench to propose as a lean, mean coat-dress clasped with a wide belt. All i will say is, oh so Burberry. Check out the entire Resort collection here.

Yesterday i spent sunny thursday watching Shrek Forever After. It sounds lame but i actually was inspired by the title to wear this cute military jacket i bought from Oh So Fickle. But as usual it got really hot so i had to remove them and stuff the thing into my bag. Also, i realized i was 90% in topshop, a brand i've been suddenly strangely addicted to. Sorry i haven't been blogging frequently, but i promise it won't happen for long! Have an awesome weekend.

teen vogue June issue

This June, Teen Vogue has yet again picked Amanda Seyfried as the cover girl. I love Amanda Seyfried ever since her Mean Girls debut as a blond bimbo, Karen Smith, but now she has starred in countless movies such as Dear John, MamaMia, Jennifer's body and her newest movie, Letters to Juliet. Amanda is just 24 years old and she is so successful, with her career and her love life (with MamaMia co star Dominic Cooper).

I'd say this shoot is marvelous as summer is here and who to shoot Amanda Seyfried better than legendary and my favorite photographer Patrick Demarchelier. Also, a new trend coming this season which is the Red Lip for this summer, and I've also shown a couple of pictures of this trend on the Louis Vuitton Cosmic Blossom post. Couple of things i liked from the shoot are her Miu Miu platform shoes in the first picture, and also her denim piece in the third picture. I can't wait to get this issue!

So I found a way to upload my pictures on blogspot much clearer and bigger, hope you guys like it! When i heard it was the start of the Great Singapore Sale, i decided to begin my journey at a flea market called "FleaFlyFlo". It was amazing how they could pack so many different stalls in one decent hall, including the many people squishing along the racks to maneuver around. Everything there was not above $50, which was pretty good for me. I ended buying a couple of rings, shoes and some other random stuff. Once my cousin and I felt that it was pointless to continue our search among the chaotic scene, we went over to the nearest mall to chill. I'd say it was a pretty good weekend for me!

My Summer picks 2010

crop tee: macy's / jeans:topshop / shoes:chanel
Second look:
tee: alexander wang / shoes:topshop / accessories:house of harlow
Third look:
maxi dress:forever 21 / shirt dress:ace&jig / briefcase bag:topshop

When i came across pictures of Santa Monica, i instantly got excited and inspired to do this post. I've never spent so much time on adobe photoshop ever, so comment and tell me how i can improve! Anyways, summer vacation is so close now and we get to spend an entire day looking fabulous in wherever you are, as long as its not school. I am in love with floral prints now, but i always like to edge it up and splash a little bit of leather to any outfit i find too sweet. I was browsing on teenvogue.com when i came across these floral jeans from topshop which costs USD$90 which is pretty good for such good prints. Then i thought, why not show you guys how i'd style an outfit with floral prints for the summer.
Night Out
First look:
dress:aryn K / scarf:louis vuitton / clutch:tods / shoe:louise golin for topshop
Second look:
dress:fred flare / shoe:alexander wang / clutch:louis vuitton / accessories:house of harlow

To be honest, i'm more of a stay at home and watch movies kind of girl when its at night, but during the summer holidays, i go all out! Dangerous heels are a must for me at night, and short dresses are perfect too! I like to switch up my accessories, but i'm loving the bohemian touch right now. Florals are still fun to play with at night, but i would give an extra edge with different types of materials to contrast them. An outfit can't be too sweet now can it?

RESORT '11: Christian Dior

This season, John Galliano wanted a show in Shanghai, but clothes that were "le savoir faire français" instead of chinese. Feeling that it wasn't appropriate, Galliano decided to take Dior to a more savvy, fierce and cool, then blend them in with ready-to-wear and couture. Galliano presented his trademark once again, as he sends out models in detailed corseted lace dresses and grand ball gowns showered in embroidery, which might just seduce a new generation of privileged chinese clients.

Once again, Karlie Kloss opens the show. To be honest, I find this collection to be similar with the Fall '10 Hermès collection with the many leather suits and military jackets. However, Galliano has always been able to wow the audience with the extravagant ball gowns and lace dresses, not forgetting sheer and playful tones which are a must this season. Check out the entire collection here.

Dior "Lady Blue Shanghai"

Baptiste Giabiconi

As Karl Lagerfeld's male muse, Baptiste Giabiconi has been included in countless Chanel and Fendi campaigns, fashion shows and events. During an interview with Lagerfeld, he mentioned that Baptiste was like a male version of Gisele Bündchen: skinny with an athletic body. Good for clothes and great with no clothes. With that beautifully sculpted facial structure, Baptiste would not be the boy next door. Maybe Prince Charming? His look is so couture and unique (and breathtaking) that it is obvious to Lagerfeld that Baptiste should be Chanel's male muse. And you're welcome.
